Emma Vogel joined Open Doors Academy in 2015 and currently serves as the Assistant Coordinator at Euclid High School. Emma is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Taylor University in May of 2014. Prior to joining the Open Doors family, Emma spent a year teaching at an alternative high school in Indianapolis. While in Indianapolis, Emma taught students who had failed out, served a prison sentence, or been expelled from the public schooling system. Emma had the joy of helping several students graduate and become the first in their family to attend college. She also has extensive experience teaching English to refugees, assisting teenagers with mental disabilities, and mentoring students who struggle with substance abuse.
After moving to Lakewood, Ohio, Emma was eager to educate and empower teens in the Cleveland area. Joining ODA fulfilled Emma’s desire to combine her educational experience and her passion for mentoring high school students. Emma greatly enjoys being the Assistant Coordinator at the Euclid campus. She is thankful for the opportunity to build relationships with both students and parents in the Euclid community.
Outside of ODA, Emma’s greatest joy is spending time with her husband Nate. Her love languages are pizza and Reese’s peanut butter cups. She also enjoys playing board games and watching the Food Network. Emma is looking forward to continuing to inspire Euclid alumni to become contributing members of their community.
