Debra Klein, Mentoring Coach
I am both the oldest employee at Open Doors and the employee that has been here the longest. I started working at Open Doors in the Fall of 2001, seeking a 180 degree change from working 12 years in direct marketing. I love working with these kids and I am never bored!
I have an eclectic employment background, having worked or volunteered in such diverse fields as carpenter’s assistant, nurse’s aide, environmental camp counselor, birth control counselor, professional shopper, and yoga instructor. In 1984, I received a B.A. in Psychology from Cleveland State University, graduating summa cum laude.
I am married to Jim Stefanchik and have 2 sons, currently (in 2009) 20 and 21 years old, both musicians.
My perpetual hope for Open Doors Students . . . that each student finds Open Doors is a place where they can explore and learn about themselves and the world around them, in a safe and loving environment.
