Mr. Poggi is a lifelong Cleveland native and currently lives in Parma, Ohio. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History/International Studies from Baldwin Wallace University in December of 2012. While in college, Mike was very active in the community and held leadership positions on campus and his fraternity Phi Kappa Tau. The time spent in college with his fraternity taught him the value of education and activism as an important part of leading a fulfilling life, which Mike has carried into his post graduate life. Michael continues to remain active in his fraternity as their Chapter Advisor, a role in which he helps direct and mentor the younger members of the collegiate organization. Mike believes that the best way to improve a community is to empower the youth, start at the roots, and teach them to approach new and challenging situations with an open mind. While not on the job, you can find Michael outdoors cycling, at the Archery range, or hiking. Other times you’ll find him playing video games and socializing.
Michael is so thrilled to be given the opportunity to help teach and mentor the scholars at Open Doors Academy, and can’t wait to give back to his community and make an impact in young lives. “All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.”
