Stephanie Budd returned to her hometown to join the ODA team in March of 2021. With ten years of experience working with youth behind her, Stephanie currently serves as the Breakthrough District Program Manager.
Prior to working with ODA, Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Education in Youth Development from the University of Illinois at Chicago. For 6 years, she devoted her all to leading farming, cooking, and arts-based youth programming on an urban farm in Chicago – falling in love with the community! She then spent 3 years teaching middle school science and learning about West African culture in The Gambia. Stephanie now carries the Gambian motto, “It’s nice to be nice,”,with her as a reminder that we can always meet each other with compassion above anything else.
In programs, you will likely find Stephanie crafting, coloring, playing games, and talking to the scholars!
