Sterling Nelson joined Open Doors Academy in November 2017 and is currently the High School Program Manager after previously serving as Career Pathways Coordinator at Cleveland Central Catholic. Prior to his position at Open Doors, Sterling was a Program Supervisor with the YMCA of Greater Seattle, where he ran the day-to-day operations of a before and after school program for elementary school students.
Sterling graduated from Kenyon College with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in English. While at Kenyon, Sterling worked for the Office of Housing and Residential Life as a Community Advisor for first-year students.
Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sterling is very excited to be back in the Midwest and working for an organization dedicated to making an impact on today’s youth.
