Tyler Poulakos joined the Open Doors Academy team in September 2020. He has served as an In-Person Program Coordinator at the Woodland Hills Remote Learning Center and facilitated multiple middle school summer camps. Today, he works as Coordinator at Orchard STEM.
Tyler graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership. He also holds a Master in Public Administration from South University.
Before working at Open Doors Academy, Tyler served as an AmeriCorps member for two consecutive terms with the Corps for Rural and Urban Success and Health (CRUSH). Tyler served high school students in the Youngstown and Cleveland areas. During this service term, he facilitated a community service-based program called Health Professions Affinity Community (HPAC) aimed to help students identify health disparities and enact a project to address them. During this time, Tyler found his true passion for service.
Tyler loves to spend time with his wife and two dogs, Crosby and Stella. He is an avid coffee drinker, enjoys outdoor activities, and traveling to new places.
