When you volunteer with Open Doors Academy, your invaluable talents and expertise positively impact the lives of our scholars and the organization. However you help, your dedicated time and support communicate to young individuals that they are valued and that they truly matter.

Ways to Get Involved 

We support our scholars and families year-round, so there are always opportunities to engage. Here are some of the ways you can get involved and make a difference:

• Support scholar academic success 
  • Tutor at a school campus after school  
  • Read to scholars at an ODA book club

• Inspire career exploration
  
  • Host a job shadowing day at your workplace 
  • Provide internship opportunities at your workplace
  • Share your expertise on a career panel
  • Review scholar resumes and conduct mock interview 

• Support our family team programs
  • Decorate our Holiday Heart donation pick-up area 
  • Wrap sweatshirts for our Holiday Heart program
  • Stock and help support our Haven House Pantry

• Rapid Impact Activities
  • Mobilize colleagues, family members, or friends for a "Done-in-a-Day" Project
  • Host a staff appreciation luncheon, recognizing our dedicated team.
  • Volunteer at our family events or fundraisers, fostering a sense of community and celebration.
