COSA is designed to elevate the field of out-of-school time education and programming.
At our Center for Out-of-School Advancement (COSA), we believe that quality out-of-school time experiences are essential for providing youth with the tools necessary for academic, social and emotional, and career success. We build and strengthen a network of support for out-of-school time programs.
Open Doors Academy founded COSA in 2018 as a response to the need for more professional development for out-of-school time providers and to support recipients of Ohio’s Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center Programs.
Each year, we train and empower hundreds of adults to provide equitable and high-quality programs.
We share best practices, conduct program observations, and host regional and statewide trainings. In addition, COSA hosts an annual two-day state conference for recipients of 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.
Through this work, we indirectly reach over 40,000 kids across the state each year.
