In October, over 500 scholars and family members came together with ODA staff to celebrate our annual Night at the Museum family event at the Great Lakes Science Center.
Excitement was in the air as families arrived, many of whom were dressed in creative and festive Halloween costumes, and ready to immerse themselves in an evening dedicated to science, exploration, and building community.
From renewable energy experiments to testing the laws of motion and gravity, the interactive displays turned science into a shared adventure. Scholars and their families experimented side by side, creating lasting memories through playful exploration.
“The atmosphere at our family events naturally brings families together,” shares Michael Campbell, Family Advocate at ODA. “At Night at the Museum this year, I could feel the fun and the sense of connection in every interaction. That’s what our family engagement efforts are all about—creating spaces and opportunities where scholars and their families can grow, bond, and enjoy one another’s company.”
