Delivering on our mission includes delivering measurable, positive outcomes for scholars across northern Ohio. We’re proud to share that impact studies conducted in partnership with the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University prove we’re doing just that.
ODA SCHOLARS ATTEND MORE SCHOOL
These studies showed that ODA scholars come to school more than students not in our programs. School attendance is a key indicator of future success, strongly linked to improved academic performance, higher graduation rates, and the development of essential life and learning skills.
Across our sites in Northeast Ohio, we found several additional positive outcomes:
INCREASED MATH GRADES, SENSE OF BELONGING, HIGH PARENT SATISFACTION
During the 2023-2024 school year:
-
63% of our scholars maintained or increased reading and math grades from fall to spring
-
62% of scholars reported that ODA creates an environment that fosters confidence and youth voice
-
72% scholars indicated a positive sense of belonging at ODA
-
65% of parents were comfortable utilizing and searching for resources in their community
-
86% of parents expressed satisfaction with ODA programming and its impact on their children
GROWING DEMAND
From 2022-2023 to the 2023-2024 school year, we added eight more afterschool sites, growing the number of scholars in our programs from 1,303 to 1,884, an increase of 45%.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Last year, 88 cents of every dollar went directly to programming, ensuring maximum impact. Behind every statistic is a scholar, a family, and a brighter future, made possible by ODA’s donors and partners.
