Dear ODA Family,
As we welcome 2025, I am reminded of the incredible potential that lives within every one of our scholars. At Open Doors Academy, we believe in the boundless dreams of children and the power of community to help those dreams come true.
This past year, we witnessed remarkable growth in our scholars. From mastering new academic challenges to discovering their passions and talents, their resilience and determination continue to inspire us all. These moments reaffirm why we do what we do: to open doors that lead to brighter futures for every child who walks through them.
In 2025, our focus remains 100% on the kids. We will deepen our commitment to providing safe, enriching environments where scholars can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. We’ll expand opportunities for career exploration, foster stronger partnerships with families, community organizations, schools and corporations, and connect scholars with mentors and experiences that inspire them to aim higher.
This year is about creating more firsts—first leadership roles, first discoveries of hidden talents, first steps toward lifelong goals. It’s about ensuring that every scholar feels valued, supported, and capable of achieving their dreams.
In the words of our seventh-grade, ODA scholar at Breakthrough Cliffs Campus, Brandon Worthen, who wrote and published a book of affirmations with his brother, first-grade, ODA scholar Braxton Worthen, our aim at ODA is that every scholar has the support, resources, and confidence to affirm:
“I make progress every day.
I make the most of every opportunity.
I make my dreams a reality.”
— Excerpt from Brown Boys Affirmations, by Brandon and Braxton Worthen
Thank you for being part of this mission. Your belief in our scholars fuels their success. Together, we will make 2025 a year filled with hope, opportunity, and endless possibility for the kids we serve.
With gratitude and hope,
Dorothy Moulthrop, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer, Open Doors Academy
