Quick! You need to balance a cookie on your forehead, then get it into your mouth without using your hands, oh, and don’t mind the group of scholars cheering you on the entire time. No pressure!
“Cookie On Your Face Challenge” was one of nine events at first ever field day and brought out the best in everyone. Sure, winning felt good, but having fun, doing it together, and being a good sport felt better.
Not every moment was easy. One scholar was frustrated that his team kept losing tug-of-war, insisting that the other team had bigger and older players. Instead of giving up, though, he asked for help.
Our high school interns and friends at Cohen & Co. stepped in offering tips and encouragement. With a few small adjustments, tug-of-war became a more balanced and exciting challenge for everyone involved.
