“If I had to describe Open Doors Academy as a color, I’d choose green. Green is very open.” Mason Diaz said.
A sixth grader at Mansfield Malabar Intermediate School, Mason has been part of ODA since third grade, discovering new hobbies, skills, and ways to grow both in and out of the classroom along the way.
Whether it’s swimming laps in the pool or learning archery, Mason is always ready for a challenge.
“Open Doors Academy offers a lot more opportunities than you could do at home,” Mason shared. “If I wasn’t at ODA, I’d probably just be at home playing video games.”
One of those opportunities? Learning to fly a drone. “We did that last year. It was so fun. I like talking about that with my friends,” Mason said proudly. It is just one example of the hands-on experiences that make ODA so memorable.
Whatever color Mason imagines when he thinks of Open Doors Academy, it’s clear he shines.
