Laura Colagiovanni is a Campus Coordinator at Orchard STEM Middle School. In this role, she leads academic and enrichment curriculum for 5th-8th grade students.

Prior to joining ODA, Laura served as a Probation Officer with Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. There, she developed case plans in collaboration with youth to address barriers that put them at risk of future court involvement. Laura developed partnerships with school staff and local organizations to provide appropriate support to youth and their families while at school and in the community.

After witnessing the damage juvenile justice involvement caused both youth and their families, Laura sought out an opportunity to provide early interventions in partnership with schools. In her new role at ODA, she hopes to provide scholars with meaningful after-school opportunities using a restorative, trauma-informed approach.

Laura graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors in Public Policy Analysis in December 2020. There, her academic coursework focused on policy/program evaluation, racial identity and inequity, and criminal justice and corrections reform.

In the future, Laura hopes to obtain a Masters of Social Work in order to serve youth and families in a clinical capacity and continue to advocate for policies rooted in empathy and healing. Throughout her career, Laura aims to be a change agent in mitigating the school-to-prison pipeline.
